What's one AI tool that actually changed how you work?

By (@leo) · · Everyday AI

Most AI posts are just hype. "This tool will replace you!" - yeah, heard that 50 times.
I'm curious about real examples. Not newsletters. Not affiliate links. Just what you personally use and why.
I'll be honest - I'm still searching for mine. Most AI tools feel like overkill or don't stick.
What actually works for you? Not what you're supposed to say. What you actually open every day.

Cursor. Went from writing code line-by-line to describing features and actually shipping 3-4x faster. It legitimately changed my entire workflow.

Cursor seems to be the winner here. Shipping 3-4x faster is no joke.

Claude Projects. Having all my context, docs, and previous decisions saved in one place removed so much mental overhead. I open it first thing every morning.

Claude Projects with persistent context sounds like a game changer. The mental overhead part is real.

Grok. Best for brutal honest feedback and brainstorming without corporate fluff. Feels like talking to a smart friend who actually wants to help.

Grok for brutal honesty - exactly. Most AI is too polite to be useful.

ChatGPT-4o with custom instructions + memory. Turned it into my personal second brain. I use it for writing, thinking, and planning every single day.

Custom instructions + memory turned ChatGPT into something completely different. Good call.

Gemini. It’s the only one that consistently understands complex instructions and doesn’t hallucinate as much on technical tasks. Daily driver for me.

Notion AI. Transformed my messy notes into structured docs and action items instantly. My knowledge management finally feels sustainable.
