DreamGlow - image 1

DreamyGlow was created by independent developer Jeremy Deveney as a simpler alternative to complicated photo-editing software.

Using Lovable AI and Supabase, he developed the initial project in just three days.

The idea was straightforward: allow anyone to transform ordinary photographs into atmospheric, nostalgic and cinematic artwork without learning complicated editing software.

What started as a small AI-assisted build became a publicly available creative tool with customizable effects and an accessible editing experience.

Prompt

Provide immediate visual feedback when switching between different looks.

8. AI-Assisted Creative Suggestions

Introduce an optional intelligent editing assistant using a supported vision-language model.

The assistant should inspect user-provided images and recommend suitable effect combinations based on visible lighting, composition, color balance and subject matter.

For example, a night photograph might benefit from controlled starlight, while a backlit portrait might benefit from gentle bloom.

The AI should recommend parameters, but actual editing should remain deterministic and adjustable.

Clearly distinguish AI-based suggestions from traditional image-processing effects.

9. Before-and-After Comparison

Implement a smooth comparison tool showing the unedited and edited versions of an image.

Support a draggable comparison slider, split-screen view and quick original-image toggle.

Ensure both images remain perfectly aligned regardless of canvas zoom or viewport dimensions.

10. High-Quality Export System

Allow users to export completed images as PNG, JPG or WebP.

Provide configurable output resolution and compression quality.

Preserve the original aspect ratio and avoid unnecessary quality degradation.

Include clear progress indicators for large image exports.

Allow users to reset their session and begin editing another photo.

11. Privacy-First Image Processing

Prioritize client-side editing using Canvas, WebGL or another suitable browser-based rendering technology.

Avoid uploading user images to remote servers when effects can be applied locally.

For optional AI-based image analysis or cloud processing, require an appropriate user action and communicate what data will be transmitted.

Remove temporary cloud assets according to a clearly documented retention policy.

12. Optional User Accounts

Implement secure authentication for users who want to save editing sessions, favorite presets or maintain a personal gallery.

Allow guest visitors to explore the editor without mandatory registration.

Use Supabase for authentication, database storage and optional project persistence.

Store editing parameters separately from original images wherever practical.

13. Technical Architecture

Build the application using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion.

Use HTML Canvas and WebGL-based processing for image manipulation.

Provide reusable modules for glow, haze, CRT, starlight, color grading and export functions.

Use Supabase for optional user accounts and saved projects.

If adding AI-assisted editing recommendations, integrate the chosen model securely through server-side endpoints.

Ensure efficient processing, responsive design, proper memory management and reliable handling of large image files.

14. Premium Visual Design

Create an original, minimalistic creative interface with dark surfaces, carefully selected typography and small, purposeful accent colors.

The actual edited photographs should be the primary visual focus.

Use lightweight animations to improve transitions between editing states.

Avoid generic gradients, cluttered dashboards and unnecessary decoration.

Make the product feel like a beautifully crafted independent creative tool.

15. Quality Assurance

Test image uploading, preview rendering, effect combinations, preset switching, undo and redo, export quality and browser compatibility.

Handle unsupported files, large uploads, memory limits and rendering failures gracefully.

Make the experience accessible through keyboard navigation, readable labels and suitable color contrast.

Final Deliverables

Produce a fully functional photo-editing application featuring a premium landing page, interactive editor, real-time visual effects, creative presets, before-and-after comparison, reliable exports and optional account management.

Include a clean project structure, reusable components, environment configuration and clear deployment documentation.

The final product should demonstrate how a simple concept can become a polished, useful application through modern AI-assisted development.

Core Principle: Transform ordinary photographs into extraordinary visual experiences in seconds.
