Spent today reading a research paper on ML and heart disease prediction
I spent some time today going through this research paper on how machine learning can be used to predict cardiovascular diseases. It was actually an interesting read, especially seeing how the researchers approached the same problem using five different algorithms: Decision Tree, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes and SVM. What caught my attention was how they compared the models instead of relying on just one approach. A few things I found worth understanding were how they evaluated each model, the role of sensitivity and specificity, and why accuracy alone isn't enough when working with medical data. Random Forest achieved the highest reported accuracy in their study (85.01%). I'm sharing this because I think it's a useful paper for anyone learning machine learning, particularly those working on classification or prediction projects
